Google introduces new crowd sourced movie reviews feature in India
Web, mobile and app, all the versions support the new feature but only in English.
Google has added a new feature that lets users contribute to movie and TV show reviews that appear on Google Search results. As reported by TechCrunch, the tech giant has confirmed this latest feature is currently only available in India.
Web, mobile and app, all the versions support the new feature but only in English. Google has further stated the reviews submitted by the users get automatically filtered for any inappropriate and offensive content. What's more, even an individual user can also report a review if he/she spots something inappropriate in it.
So let's find out how does Google's new feature work. Well, once a user writes and submits a review, it will be shown in the Knowledge Panel, which is made for many TV shows and movies at the top of the search results on Google. As of now, it is unclear if Google has plans to expand this feature to outside India or not.
As some of you know, the movie review feature is identical to the "restaurant reviews" contributed by the users, which shows details like store hours, location, busy times and critics reviews of various restaurants in Google's Knowledge Panel.
In the beginning of this month, Google had launched a personalized stream of news articles, videos, and other content, called the Feed. Available on both Android and iOS, this feature was exclusive to Indian users at first. However, Google later rolled out the Feed feature to all the countries.
