Google officially rolls out "Mobile-first Indexing" for website data
Google has cleared the fact that the ‘mobile-first-indexing' is about how the content is put together rather than the content ranking.
Google the tech giant has recently made an announcement that it is officially rolling out the 'mobile-first-indexing". In the 'mobile-first-indexing,' the Google bots or what many of us know as the spider will crawl to index the mobile versions of web pages instead of crawling or indexing the desktop pages. It is being reported that the company is aiming towards making the switch beneficial for its "primarily mobile" customer base.

As per some reports from the internet, it is being claimed that this new change will have a major impact on incoming traffic for most of the small websites that don't have a mobile version of their webpage because Google doesn't have a 'mobile-first-index' which separate it from the main index.
Google has further cleared the fact that the 'mobile-first-indexing' is about how the content is put together rather than the content ranking. As per Google, the "Content which is gathered by mobile-first-indexing has no advantage over ranking the mobile content which has not been gathered this way or the desktop content".

The report further suggests that Google has also started to notify the websites that are migrating to mobile-first-indexing through "Search Console" and the website owners can also now expect a rise in crawl rates from the Smartphone Googlebot or spider in the future. That said about the mobile-first-indexing we will keep you updated with the further updates from Google and other companies.
