Google had unveiled its Smart Displays for the users back in the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 to take on the Amazon' s Alexa powered Echo Show. During the CES 2018, Google had showcased four smart displays from JBL, Lenovo, LG and Sony. However, there was no information released as to when the devices will be available for the masses.
Now, Google has recently concluded its Google I/O developer conference 2018. The tech giant has released information related to its different products and services during the I/O developer conference. Following this, the company has also shared some details related to the upcoming Smart Display. Google has announced that its Smart Display will probably be available for the masses later this year in July. As per some report from the CNET, the Smart Display will come embedded with YouTube TV app along with some set of new features.
After the release of the Smart Displays a user will not only be able to watch normal YouTube videos but also give the users access to YouTube TV. We all have an idea that the YouTube TV is a live streaming service that offers stations like TNT, Cartoon Network, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC for a total amount of $40 (Rs. 2,695.74 approximately) per month. It is also worth noting the fact that Google had pulled YouTube from the Amazon Echo Show last fall. Following this, the upcoming smart displays might give a stiff competition to the Amazon's Alexa powered devices when it comes to offering the content on their platform.
In addition to this Google has also announced the customizable ambient screens at the I/O 2018. Google has also promised that it will have a support for an immersive third-party experience. It is also being reported that this feature will show up in the upcoming Smart Displays. This will further allow a user to choose from a number of customizable ambient screens. This will further enhance the immersive experiences like the games that make use of both the touch and voice functionalities of the device.
