Huawei is working on developing gaming smartwatch
Apart from gaming, the smartwatch from Huawei will also be able to reply to a text while on the go.
Chinese tech giant Huawei has recently filed for a patent at the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization. The patent filed hints that a wearable which can also be used as a portable gaming device is in works.
Huawei will be ditching the traditional touchscreen or a crown design. The patent reveals that the company will be rolling out a smartwatch that will be operated using its watch band. The strap of the smartwatch is said to be enabled with several gestures so that a user can play first-person shooter games along with the racing games which requires a user to move and control the game swiftly.
According to some sources, there is a square-shaped watch that comes with a band attached that is touch sensitive. As per the documentation, the watch will be enabled with different swiping gestures. The patent further shows that apart from gaming, the smartwatch will also be able to reply to a text while on the go. The watch will also be able to select texts while reading and will act as a cursor while browsing the internet using the smartwatch.
Huawei will equip the gaming smartwatch with a gyroscope and also an accelerometer that will allow the watch to read gestures when it is pulled from either side or is twisted in order to perform any specific task or action. Huawei also visions to allow the watch to play games horizontally where a user will need to hold his/her watch with bands on both sides of the watch held with their hands.
The patent filed further reveals that the upcoming Huawei smartwatch will also feature a front-facing camera. The selfie camera in the watch will allow a user to click selfies and also acts as a shutter activator. The band and the screen as mentioned earlier will be touch sensitive. Also, a user will be able to shuffle through the pictures and control the zoom inside the camera by using the pinch gesture on the watch band or display.
It will be interesting to see how Huawei executes the development of the patent as it might be in the development stage. The idea by the company seems pretty interesting considering the fact that the displays of the smartwatches are small. Huawei has not made any official comments on the same however we are expecting that the company rolls out this interesting gadget soon.
