Huawei Plans To Add More Stores In Tier 3 Cities In 2020
After joining hands with Micromax to boost its offline sales in India, Huawei is now planning to add more stores in 2020. The company's vice-president for the consumer business group, Rishi Kishor Gupta told Gizbot, about their plans related to retail business for the next year.
Gupta said," Right now, we have 1000 stores in 13 cities in India. Now we are still expanding our retail presence in India." He added, "we have launched a GT smartwatch on Amazon, and we got a phenomenal response. But people want to experience the products."
However, he refused to divulge the exact details about the upcoming stores. But Gupta assures that the company will launch stores in tier III cities. Apart from that, the company is planning to bring more products next year and the entire ecosystem of research and development.
According to research firm IDC, the wearable market has grown 30.9 percent Q-O-Q in Q2 of this year. "Huawei took the third position with its dual-brand strategy aimed at capturing the mass market with the Huawei brand and a younger audience with the Honor brand," the firm said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the company has launched a new smartwatch, called the Huawei Watch GT2 in India. The smartwatch comes with a starting price of Rs. 14,990. The newly launched smartphone is a successor of its watch GT, which was launched earlier this year. The Huawei GT2 will be available in two dial sizes i.e 42mm and 46mm. It comes in three different variants--Black Sport, Leather Sport, and Titanium Grey.
Under the hood, the smartphone features Kirin A1 chipset, which is specially designed for wearables. This chipset provides support to Bluetooth 5.1 and 51.LE. Besides, it allows you to store 500 songs. The watch offers modes such as workout and always-on. In terms of tracking and fitness features, Huawei claims that it is compatible with 15 sports like climbing, hiking, running, open water. You'll also get a heart rate monitoring feature, GPS and GLONASS satellite positioning.
