Huawei's Mobile AI to launch on September 2
The AI will be more than just a voice assistant.
While you may be waiting for the Huawei's upcoming flagship Mate 10, the company is working on another big thing. If you remember, last month Huawei announced that it is developing an Artificial Intelligence processor.
Later, we got to see an official teaser on Twitter revealing that the AI will be more than just a voice assistant. As per the information, we have obtained so far, the AI processor was likely to get unveiled this fall. Well, guess what? Huawei has just released an official video teaser on Weibo that reveals the launch date of the upcoming AI processor.
It will be launching on September 2 in Berlin, Germany. This means Huawei will unveil the new AI at the IFA Berlin 2017. Richard Yu, the head of Consumer Business Unit at Huawei, is expected to give the keynote speech during the event.
The video is said to serve the purpose of an invitation to the event. As clear from the video, Huawei wants us to expect the unexpected from the Artificial Intelligence processor. Unfortunately, the video is quite vague.
The only thing we have come to know is that the AI will have a lot of functionalities. In addition to voice assistance feature, it will offer an array of smart features.
The new AI chip is likely to be integrated into the Hisilicon Kirin SoC. However, it could be used independently in other gadgets as well. The AI is also expected to be compatible with the Kirin 970 chips, which would be powering the upcoming Huawei Mate 10. Click here to watch the video teaser.
