Karbonn to launch an Android Jellybean smartphone next month

Karbonn recently launched the Android ICS powered Smart Tab 1. It also released three smartphones that are based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The brand has announced that it will launch an Android Jellybean tablet in August. It will also be coming up with a Jellybean powered smartphone, Karbonn Smart A24 by the end of next month.

Karbonn calls this new device as Phablet (phone cum tablet combination). It will sport a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It is one of the highest resolutions present in the smartphones. The device will be equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor.

The phone will have usual features that are present in the Android smartphones. It will have Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS connectivity. It will sport an 8 MP camera at the rear with LED flash and a front facing camera. Interestingly, the handset is expected to have the Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system.

The Google Nexus 7 tablet that was launched last month is powered by this Google operating system. The players like HTC and Samsung will soon bring this update for their existing devices. They are also planning to launch new devices to make use of this platform.

The Karbonn Smart A24 that is believed to be launched in the end of August this year is expected to be priced around Rs 13,000. However, there is no official information regarding its exact price in India.
