    LeTV, a Chinese conglomerate internet company, created history by smashing all previous records by notching up sales worth USD 280 million or 1.7 billion Yuan in a single day.

    This was achieved at the recently concluded LeFans Carnival in Beijing which witnessed a buying frenzy among consumers who bought 594,000 LETV smart phones, 382,000 smart LETV Television sets, and more than 1.2 million smart accessories, like wireless routers, parenting devices, 3D movie helmets, and gaming devices.

    It now holds at least eight records in China for highest single brand TV sales in one day among all e-commerce platforms in China ; the record for single-brand mobile phones sold in a day among all Chinese e-commerce platforms and so on.

    According to a recent report, LeTV is now the fastest-growing smartphone maker in China, which is the largest smartphone market on the globe by both total revenue and shipment numbers.

    Most people in India probably haven't heard of Letv yet, but indications are that LeTV would soon build up a presence here to tap into one of the fastest growing markets for smart phones and other smart devices, with plans to start selling its streaming service and devices .

    The company with an employee strength of 5,000 has a market capitalization of around $12 billion on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

    Letv's core streaming business has built up a library of more than 100,000 TV series and 5,000 movies. It has also started making its own premium smart TV to stream its content and beats out stalwarts like Samsung and Sony in the Chinese market.
