E-commerce platforms have surely made our lives easier. Gone are the days when shopping meant hopping store to store to buy the desired product. Be it clothing, electronics, books or medicines, e-commerce platforms have adapted to the needs of modern-day consumers.

But, it's not always that you get a good shopping experience online. Reports of wrong products being shipped to buyers are quite common. And it seems that it isn't going to stop anytime soon.

A consumer called Vishnu Suresh from Kannur, Kerala is the latest victim of wrong product delivery. Suresh had reportedly ordered a camera from the e-commerce platform Flipkart. However, little to his knowledge, a surprise was waiting for him.

Turns out the camera for which he placed the order was rather a box of tiles. The customer is said to have placed an order for a camera by paying Rs. 27,500 on November 20 at Flipkart. However, instead of the camera, the box just had the camera's manual and warranty card, and the main unit was replaced by tiles.

The report also indicates that the seller had promised a delivery within a week. On November 24, the package was delivered with the wrong item. Notably, the product was delivered via Ekart Logistics which is a subsidiary of Flipkart and takes care of the transportation of the products.

It is being said that Suresh reached out to Flipkart's customer care register a complaint. The seller had apparently promised a new camera expected to be delivered within a week. It is currently unknown if the camera has now been delivered to the customer or the replacement is still pending.

It is sad to see that the e-commerce giants are unable to stop these fake and wrong product deliveries to the consumers. Back in October, Flipkart was fined Rs. 1 lakh for delivering a black coat instead of an SG Player Edition English willow cricket bat to a consumer named Vadiraja Rao.

The latest incident shows the failure in the efforts of e-commerce platforms to curb the incidents of wrong product delivery. It's high time now that online shopping platforms get stringent product delivery policies to avoid bad experiences in the future.
