Parallels 8 now available in India for Rs 3,999


Parallels, known for their award winning Mac virtualization software has launched its latest version Parallels 8 in to the Indian market. This software will be available for at a price tag of Rs 3,999. 

The software is hugely popular because of its ability to make both Windows and Mac OS run simultaneously without any need for separate booting of the two operating systems. Now with the latest version of Parallels in place, users can use it to make Windows 8 work with MacBook Pro Retina Display. 


The new Parallels 8 version has more useful features compared to its predecessor. The new version now integrates the voice dictation capabilities which could be extremely handy while using Windows 8. Voice dictation feature was recently introduced in OS X Mountain Lion. The latest version also features a new mode that will open a website automatically in Internet Explorer incase it fails to open properly with Safari browser. Users can also now use gesture features of OS X within Windows 8. 

Improvement in seamless switching between OS

The latest Parallels 8 version also allows users to drag and drop items from the Windows Desktop towards the dock in OS X. Bluetooth sharing is also possible across the two operating systems. Company sources claim that the performance of Parallels 8 has a significant improvement compared to Parallels 7 software. 

As per the reports, input/output operations are enhanced by a margin of 30 percent compared to the previous version. Other improvements with the latest version include 30% improvement in performance with games and 25% improvement in speed of Virtual machine operations spread across suspend, boot, shutdown and resume.
