Pre-booking for UbiSlate 7 is open
Now it is time to forget Aakash tablets as the gizmo lovers have a better tablet. Aakash tablet was a rage and people were pouncing on it was pre-order when Datawind, the manufacturer announced its online availability. Now, Datawind has announced the pre-booking of the upgraded Aakash tablet, UbiSlate 7.
A spokesperson of Datawind said that the company has closed the pre-booking of Aakash and has started the same for the upgraded version, UbiSlate 7. Well known as the most inexpensive tablet in the world, Aakash created lot of interest among the consumers.
Soon as Datawind announced the online availability of the tablet, there was a great virtual scramble for it by the tablet lovers to have one for them. This is reason for the company to close the bookings within a week.
The company has still not announced the registration figures recorded for Aakash but it targeted the students mainly to sell the first generation device of 7 inches based on Android v2,2, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity.
The UbiSlate 7 us available for a price of Rs. 2,999 and it is scheduled to be shipped in January 2012. It will be powered by Android v2.3 and will have the GPRS and Wi-Fi features thereby allowing the users to make use of a SIM.
It has a better processor, Cortex A8 700 MHz which is more efficient when compared to that used in Aakash. We have already discussed on the pre-orders of Aakash.
