Samsung has officially announced the Dex Pad a few weeks back, now it is being reported that the device is available for pre-orders in the US. The Samsung Dex Pad will officially arrive in the US on May 13 and the interested user can pre-book the device for $99. Further, if a user purchases Samsung Galaxy S9 or the S9 plus from the Samsung's website he/she will get the Dex Pad without any charges.
For those users who don't have an idea about the Dex Pad, we would like to add that it is an upgraded version of Samsung's DeX dock. The Samsung Dex Pad can also be used as a trackpad when a phone is attached to it. The Dex Pad is said to work similar to wireless charging pads and the users will not need to dock their smartphones to it as it used to in the Dex station.
This accessory which converts the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ into a desktop without the necessity to dock the smartphones will definitely enhance the overall performance of the devices. However, the DeX Pad will not be bundled with the smartphones and users need not purchase the same by paying any additional cost.
The Dex Pad accessory could feature a slew of ports such as a full-size HDMI port, a USB Type-C port and two full-size USB ports. The one thing which seems to be missing in the upcoming accessory seems to be the Ethernet port that was there on the original DeX Dock accessory that went official last year with the Galaxy S8 smartphones. Given the widespread availability of Wi-Fi, the lack of the Ethernet port should not be a major concern for the users.
As we mentioned above that the Dex Pad will be available with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ without any extra charges which could attract a potential number of buyers. Let's quickly have a look at what Samsung has in store for its users in terms of features and specifications:
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus comes with dual aperture lens which is able to switch between various lighting conditions. The camera features F1.5 aperture mode, allowing maximum light to fall in to produce very sharp images even in low light conditions. The super slow-mo lets with setting the video to music or turn it into a looping GIF. The IP68 allows the submersion up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes comfortably making it excellent waterproof. The device is available in Lilac Purple, Midnight Black, Titanium Grey and Coral Blue for 64GB variant, whereas for 256GB variant the device is available in Midnight Black. Read more here.
