Samsung launched the Galaxy S3


Samsung has finally launched the most anticipated smartphone of the year, the Galaxy S3. The manufacturer launched the device at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked Event 2012 held in London yesterday. The smartphone will be launched globally on May 29th with HSPA+. There will also be a 4G LTE version for US, Korea and Japan in summer.

Samsung has confirmed that for US, the launch date will be in June. This is the first huge appearance of Samsung on stores and carrier shelves. The Galaxy S3 will arrive on 296 carriers across 145 countries in the world. This is not a bad start for such an anticipated device.

The handset features a 4.8 inch high definition Super AMOLED display. The screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. There is an 8 MP camera at the rear and a 1.9 MP camera at the front. The smartphones runs the Android 4.0 ICS operating system.

The handset will be available in three different versions – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB respectively. The 64 GB model will be out soon. The memory can be expanded to 64 GB through a micro SD card slot. The smartphone is powered by a 2100 mAh battery.

With this smartphone, Samsung has launched a rival to the iPhone. It has the S Voice feature which is an advanced natural language user interface. It listens and responds to your words. There is a Direct Call feature in the device. In situations where you need to call the person who is messaging you, you can simply call then by lifting the phone to your ear.

The Galaxy S3 comes in Marble White and Pebble Blue color options. Samsung claims that it will include other color options as well in future. The price in India of this smartphone is still not announced.
