Sony Announces Xperia Ion At Rs 36,999; Smart Watch And Android ICS Upgrade For Existing 2011 Range in India [Report]

Sony India has announced the release of the much awaited Sony Xperia Ion into the Indian market with Airtel as its carrier. This product will be available for users in India at a price tag of Rs. 36, 999. The expensive pricing of the device is expected to be compensated by an array of advanced and interesting features.

The device will be powered by Android 4.0 ICS and the company has hinted of a possible Android Jelly Bean upgrade to this device in future. Other key features in Sony Xperia Ion will also include a 4.6 inch HD Reality Display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, Sony Mobile Bravia Engine,12 mega pixel rear AF camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1900mAh battery and 1.5  GHz  Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260 mobile processor with 1 GB memory. 

Airtel mobile customers purchasing Sony Xperia Ion will receive free 500GB of 3G data per month for three months. In addition to it, users will also receive 200 minutes of Mobile TV for a period of 2 months.
