Windows 10 Lean is Microsoft's new lightweight OS
The lightweight version was first discovered by a Windows expert named Lucan who found the lightweight OS hidden inside the Redstone inside (build 17650)
Microsoft Windows had gone through a number of updates and we all might have seen the different versions of the windows with latest being 10 S. However one department where Microsoft was not as successful as it could have been releasing a lightweight OS version of Windows.

The Windows 10 S somehow didn't live up to users expectations which led Microsoft to shift its focus back to developing a lightweight version of the Windows for the users. Microsoft is calling the lightweight OS as Windows 10 Lean. According to some sources, the lightweight version was first discovered by a Windows expert named Lucan who found the lightweight OS hidden inside the Redstone inside (build 17650) which is released this week. The latest Skip Ahead build is said to be released to a select number of users at the moment which hints that Windows 10 could be available in three variants soon.
Further, the installer for the Windows 10 lean is said to be about 2GB lighter in weight than the ones available now. Microsoft eliminated many of the default apps and features including the wallpapers to get the size decreased by 2Gb from the top-end-variant of the Windows 10 which is Windows 10 Pro on an x64 system. The additional apps and features which are removed consist of RegEdit and CD/DVD writers from the installer.

A user can run any Windows app on the Windows Lean, unlike the Windows 10 S which allowed a user to install apps from the Windows Store and didn't run Win32 apps. Lucan has also tweeted the screenshot of the latest version which has revealed that it's a part of "Window 10 S Insider preview" branch and has subID 'CloudE'. So it could be a possibility that Windows 10 lean is the redesigned Windows 10 S.

There is further not much information available about the Windows 10 Lean and what all the lightweight Windows version will have in store for users. That said, we will keep you posted on the same so stay tuned with us.
