Apple the Cupertino based tech titan unwrapped the iPhone 5 – the highly anticipated sixth generation smartphone at a special media event on September 12 alongside iOS 6, iPod touch and iPod nano.

Following the successful release in countries including UK, Asutralia, US and many others, Apple has finally set the date for the Indian release. Finally, its official that iPhone 5 will come to India on November 2.

Coming to the specs, iPhone 5 houses a 4 inch display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, a new Apple A6 chipset, 1GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB internal memory, 8MP rear camera with iSight technology and 1.2MP front camera.

Powered by the iOS 6 platform with new features, iPhone 5 comes packed with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, 4G LTE, 3G and micro USB 2.0 support. As per Apple, the battery in the smartphone offers 8 hours talk time and 225 hours standby.

When it comes to the pricing, tech experts predicted that the handset will be available starting from Rs 50,000 approximately. However, some Apple fanboys in India have the option of buying the smartphone prior to the official release from the grey markets by paying double its price.

Adding to them, many online retailers have also listed the iPhone 5 for pre-order for different prices starting from Rs 45,500. But, some claim that they will deliver the iPhone 5 only after its release, that is they start shipping iPhone 5 only from the first week of November.
