Dedicated Tab And New Editing Tools For Facebook Video Editor

Meta announced multiple upgrades to the video features on Facebook. This includes new and refined editing tools, and the ability to upload videos in HDR.

Using the new editing tools users will be able to quickly add music, filters, and other effects to their videos. Users will also be able to trim and cut their videos and add titles and captions even from a smartphone.

Meta has also replaced the older Watch tab with a Video tab. The company claims the new Video tab will make it easier for users to find and watch videos on Facebook.

Meta has essentially dumped the older Watch tab and replaced it with the new Video tab. The company even mentioned that the new tab will appear soon on the shortcut bar.

Calling it "the one-stop shop for everything video on Facebook, including Reels, long-form videos, and Live content," Meta claims the "Video" option will be at the top of the Android app and at the bottom of the iOS version.

Users can soon browse videos vertically through a "personalized feed" with a separate or dedicated Reels section. The company is also bringing the Reels editing tools to Facebook. Apart from the ability to add audio, text, voiceover, and music to videos, users will be able to change the speed of a clip, reverse it, or replace it.

Simply put, Meta appears to be realigning Facebook and the content it pushes to users. It has not only prioritized video but also offered new tools to make better quality videos and allowed users to upload them in HDR.

True HDR Support To All Meta's Platforms, Including WhatsApp?

In addition to upgrading the video editor platform on Facebook, Meta has unlocked the ability to upload videos in HDR. Needless to say, this will allow users to share videos with more vibrant colors and contrast.

Meta has indicated that it will bring "true HDR video support" to all applications under the company's banner. This means Facebook and Instagram should soon offer HDR videos to their users.

It is interesting to note that WhatsApp will also offer higher-resolution videos. Hence, it is quite possible that the instant messaging platform too could support HDR videos in the near future.
