Twitter Blue Arrives In India: Check Subscription Prices, Features, And Added Benefits

The Twitter Blue subscription is finally in India. The monthly and annual subscription witnessed several ups and downs before arriving in the country. Twitter has confirmed the pricing for the subscription, and as assured, the social media platform has respected Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Let's take a look at all the features and benefits of the Twitter Blue subscription for Indian users.
Twitter Blue Availability Expanded To Include India, Brazil, and Indonesia
Twitter Blue subscription has launched in India. The subscription was initially limited to just a few countries, but it will now be available in regions outside the US and EU.
The Twitter Blue subscription will now be available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, India, Indonesia, and Brazil. The social media platform has also indicated that users from several more countries will soon be able to buy the subscription.
The original Twitter Blue subscription was initially priced at $4.99 but was revised later last year. While the price substantially increased to $7.99 per month, so did the perks and benefits.

The revised price of the Twitter Blue subscription varies across countries. In India, the Twitter Blue subscription costs ₹650 for the web and ₹900 for iOS / Android monthly. Buyers can also opt for an annual subscription. The yearly subscription for the web costs ₹6,800.
In comparison, it costs $11 (approx. ₹660) for the web, $11 (approx. ₹900) for iOS / Android for monthly plans, and $84 (approx. ₹6,940) annually in the United States. Needless to say, the difference in prices between subscriptions in India and the US is marginal. Hence, it isn't clear how Twitter ensured Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) for countries other than the US and EU.
Twitter Blue Features, Benefits
The social media platform has undergone multiple changes since it was acquired by Elon Musk last year. Among those, the most prominent was the Twitter Blue subscription, presumably because Musk intended to reduce dependency on advertising for revenue.
There are several benefits and features that Twitter Blue subscribers enjoy, not extended to general users of the micro-blogging network. As indicated in the above tweet, Twitter has rolled out a "Longer Tweets" feature for its Twitter Blue subscribers.
The newly added feature allows subscribers to Tweet up to 4,000 characters. Users can also compose longer Tweets in a Quote Tweet or reply, and add 4 photos, a GIF, or a video in your Tweet, similar to any other Tweet. Subscribers also get 30 minutes to edit a Longer Tweet. Such tweets can be viewed by everyone.
