How to Add Tagged Photos and Videos to Your Instagram Profile Grid: Step-by-Step Guide

Instagram is rolling out a new feature that gives users more control over how their profiles look. The platform now lets users add tagged posts directly to their main profile grid, allowing photos, videos and shared moments posted by other accounts to appear alongside their own uploads.

Previously, posts from other users where you were tagged were limited to the separate Tagged tab on your profile. With this update, users can choose which tagged content deserves a place on their main grid, making profiles more flexible for creators, brands and regular users alike.

Instagram Now Lets You Add Tagged Posts to Your Profile Grid

How to Add Tagged Posts to Your Instagram Profile Grid

Instagram offers multiple ways to add an eligible tagged post to your main profile. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Method 1: Add From a Tag Notification

Step 1: Open the direct message or notification informing you that you've been tagged in a post.

Step 2: Open the tagged post.

Step 3: Look for the option to add the post to your profile grid and select it.

Method 2: Add From the Post Menu

Step 1: Open the post where you have been tagged.

Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu in the top corner of the post.

Step 3: Select the option to add the tagged post to your main profile grid.

Method 3: Add From the Tagged Tab

Step 1: Open Instagram and head to your profile.

Step 2: Tap the Tagged tab to view posts where other users have tagged you.

Step 3: Press and hold the post you want to feature.

Step 4: Select the option to add it to your main profile grid.

Where Will the Tagged Post Appear?

One important thing to note is that tagged posts are placed on your grid according to their original publishing date. So, adding an older tagged post will not necessarily make it appear at the top of your profile.

The update could be particularly useful for creators who want to showcase brand collaborations, events or content posted by other accounts. Regular users can also highlight group photos, travel memories and special moments without needing to upload the same content separately.

Can You Remove a Tagged Post From Your Grid?

Yes. Instagram is keeping the feature completely reversible. Removing a tagged post from your main grid does not delete the original post or remove it from your Tagged tab. It simply changes whether that post appears on your main profile.

With this update, Instagram is making profile customisation more flexible by giving tagged content a place alongside your regular posts-while still leaving users in control of what appears on their grid.
