Instagram To Ask For Birth Dates Before Registering New Users
Instagram has become one of the most used social networking services in recent years. However, the app couldn't verify its users' right age group. Due to which even underage users are able to use the app, by submitting false credentials. To protect these underage users, Instagram will now ask users to enter their birth dates.

Earlier, users had to provide their birthdays when they tend to merge Facebook and Instagram accounts. But now, even after you use Instagram independently, you will be asked to enter the right birth date. Apart from birth date requirement, Instagram will let people block inappropriate messages from users they don't follow. And, it also allows the users to block minors from peeping through their posts.
Instagram said that it will not at all verify the mentioned birthdates, but it could depend on artificial intelligence to identify if the dates mentioned are correct or not. Moreover, Instagram can estimate the age group of users by going across their posts. The app is also capable to trace out any user's gender.
It's not the first time Instagram has upgraded itself in this year. The social networking service earlier introduced new features like desktop publishing access, Stories, Shopping features, and testing of augmented reality for shopping. The app comes with TikTok-Inspired "Reels" mode that will provide users with some new options, especially when they are editing contents within stories. The feature, however, is only available for users in Brazil.
The social media has also included dark mode feature which is accessible if you are an iOS 13 or Android 10 user. The users can conveniently use the app even in pitch darkness. For using dark mode on iPhones, move to settings followed by display and brightness. And, then choose dark option.
