Meta and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) have unveiled a report highlighting the increasing influence of digital platforms in India's automotive sector. The study shows that tools like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are playing a crucial role in how consumers discover and engage with car dealerships.
The report indicates that 72% of new car buyers found their brands through Meta's platforms. Additionally, 69% acknowledged these platforms' impact on their purchasing decisions. WhatsApp has emerged as a key communication tool, with 48% of buyers using it to check vehicle availability.

Digital Platforms Transforming Automotive Research
Instagram Reels is becoming an essential resource for automotive research. According to the survey, 72% of buyers find creator content on Reels helpful when evaluating vehicles. This trend shows how automotive brands are increasingly using digital spaces for marketing and communication.
The report also highlights the growing role of AI-powered advertising tools in enhancing engagement and lead generation for dealerships. These digital advancements are reshaping how dealers connect with potential customers.

Saugato Bhowmik from Meta emphasised their role in facilitating rapid digital customer acquisition for auto dealers. He mentioned that nearly 10,000 dealers have been upskilled over two years through unique hyperlocal solutions involving Reels and AI.
Collaborations Driving Sales Growth
Virat Khullar from Hyundai Motor India Limited expressed enthusiasm about their partnership with Meta. He noted that Meta's hyperlocal program led to a remarkable 37% sales growth in H2 '24 compared to H1 while reducing Cost per Retail by 29%. The collaboration has efficiently onboarded over 600 dealers swiftly.
Manjari Upadhye from Mahindra highlighted how their partnership with Meta has amplified passenger vehicle launches' impact. By leveraging WhatsApp for Thar ROXX launch and using Partnership ads for XUV 700, they saw increased consideration intent by +3.3 points.
The collaboration between Mahindra and Meta has set new industry benchmarks by driving bookings and sales through innovative technology use. The Auto Industry's first chat-based car configurator on Messenger and Instagram Direct for XUV 3XO resulted in a 29% increase in conversation volumes.
