Snapchat Partners with Perplexity to Bring Conversational AI Search to the App
Snapchat's parent company, Snap, has teamed up with Perplexity to integrate an AI-powered answer engine into the platform. This collaboration aims to provide Snapchat users with a novel way to inquire about topics of interest and gain insights about the world. The integration is set to launch in early 2026, offering users clear answers from reliable sources directly within Snapchat.
The partnership highlights Snap's expanding influence as a trusted platform for AI collaborations. With over 943 million monthly active users and a significant presence among 13–34-year-olds across more than 25 countries, Snapchat offers AI partners a secure way to reach millions who engage through chat daily. Under this agreement, Perplexity will pay Snap $400 million over one year in cash and equity as they achieve global rollout.

AI Integration on Snapchat
Perplexity's AI-powered answer engine will be accessible on Snapchat, which will allow users to ask questions and receive conversational responses based on verified information. The integration aims to enhance user experience by providing informative content seamlessly within the app.
Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: "Perplexity's mission is to support the world's curiosity. Millions of people connect and discover the world through Snapchat. By bringing Perplexity to Snapchat, we're able to serve that curiosity directly where it occurs."
Shared Vision for AI
Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snap Inc., shared his thoughts on the collaboration: "Our goal is to make AI more personal, social, and fun – woven into the fabric of your friendships, Snaps, and conversations. This partnership reflects our shared vision for the power of AI to enhance discovery and connection on Snapchat, and we look forward to collaborating with more innovative partners in the future."
This collaboration marks a step forward in integrating advanced technology into social media platforms. By embedding AI capabilities within Snapchat, both companies aim to enrich user interactions and foster a deeper connection between users and the content they explore.
