Here's what Vero offers and Instagram, FAcebook doesn't.

Vero, a new social media app that burst onto the scene just days ago that honestly didn't manage to live up to the hype. If you are someone of the people who gave Vero a shot, you might be liking the idea of the app but might be pushed away by the limited social network it offered. Although the app might not be your primary choice for ultimate social media experience, there are few features you wish Facebook and Instagram should have.

Chronological feed

One aspect where Vero has an edge over Instagram is the chronological news feed. Vero has also touted not using an algorithm to classify the feed. Facebook has been using algorithms to better curate the news feed since 2011.

Facebook does offer you an option for organizing and browsing specific friend feeds, but it's definitely not as important as the default news feed. Users have also demanded to bring back chronological feeds on Instagram.

Another service that Vero has is the Collection tab that allows a user to quickly filter through content posted over the span of past few das organized by the type of content you have chosen.

Instead of scrolling through feeds for specific content, Vero sorts all the content from a user's network and categorizes them allowing the users to browse through each collection chronologically.

In fact, Instagram also has a Collections tab but it has been buried so deep in the UI that it doesn't really come in handy. Also, it only collects and organizes posts that have been saved while scrolling through the feed.

Ads have been an integral part of the social media since its inception. They might be annoying but it's hard to block them. Google last year removed around 3 billion bad ads, which is almost double of what was removed in 2016. This indicates that bad ads are continuously becoming a problem for social media giants.

Currently, social media caters users as a free service while promoting products depending on what we see on the internet. The idea has been proven to extremely successful for Facebook. Vero, on the other hand, offers a no-ads, that will only be available for paid subscribers. Though the company is yet to implement the paywall, that seems like the plan.

It is hard to say that users will actually pay to use the Vero app. But if Facebook or Instagram offers such services, there is a possibility that users might opt for the no-ads experience. But since the social media giant makes a lot of business through marketing, it is hard to consider such possibilities in the future.
