X Premium+ Subscription Price in India and the US Gets Major Hike: Here’s How Much It Costs Now

X, previously known as Twitter, has announced an increase in the cost of its premium subscription service across various regions, including India. The most affected market is the United States, where the price for X Premium+ has surged by nearly 40%. This adjustment is attributed to offering a "completely" ad-free experience and introducing new features.

In India, the monthly fee for the top-tier plan was initially Rs. 1,300, with an annual rate of Rs. 13,600. These have now been adjusted to Rs. 1,750 per month and Rs. 18,300 annually. It's important to note that signing up through the X app on Android and iOS results in higher subscription costs.

X Premium+ Price Hike Details

According to a blog post by X, new subscribers will face these revised prices immediately upon subscribing. Existing users with billing cycles starting before January 21, 2025, will continue at their current rates until then. After this date, the new pricing will apply from their first billing cycle. The extent of price increases varies by region due to factors like taxes and payment methods.

In the US market, the previous monthly charge for X Premium+ was $16 (around Rs. 1,360) via web sign-up, with an annual fee of $168 (approximately Rs. 14,000). Post-revision, these figures have risen to $22 (about Rs. 1,900) monthly and $229 (around Rs. 19,000) annually.

Reasons Behind the Price Increase

The platform led by Elon Musk has outlined several reasons for this price change. The X Premium+ subscription now promises a completely ad-free experience. Additionally, it offers enhanced priority support and access to advanced Grok AI models.

A new feature called Radar has also been introduced; it allows users to track keywords and view trends through daily activity graphs while providing statistics on post counts from queries. The price hike affects other regions such as Canada, the European Union (EU), Nigeria, and Turkey as well.

X Premium+ also plays a role in supporting the creator programme by linking earnings to the overall value creators bring to X rather than ad impressions. The updated subscription pricing is said to reflect these enhancements.
