Micro-blogging site Twitter celebrates it's 7th year aniversary today. in 2006 on this same day, twitter founder, Jack Dorsey made the first tweet "just setting up my twttr," and thus began the journey of one of the most successful social networking service in the world.

Within, 2012, the Micro-blogging site had become force to be reckoned with, as it had over 140 million registered users and was generating 340 million tweets daily. Twiter now says it has over 200 million active users sending over 400 million tweets every day. It has been ranked as the fastest growing cocial platform in the world.
