Acer Begins IFA 2014 On a Tablet High: Iconia Tab One 8, Tab 10 Unveiled With Android KitKat
After Lenovo and Toshiba, it's Acer that has taken the center-stage at this year's IFA event. Announcements, as expected, are happening thick and fast with the event already kicking off, and Acer becomes the newest name to join in with its own special offering.
Taking advantage of this year's IFA event, Acer has finally unveiled two new tablet devices: Acer Iconia Tab One 8 and Iconia Tab 10. Actually there are three tablets in total wtih the Iconia Tab 8 W also released with Windows. But for the moment we are concentrating on Iconia Tab One 8 and Iconia Tab 10.

The Iconia One Tab 8 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor (the Z3735G), with an 8-inch, 1,280 x 800 IPS display up front. The tablet is 8.5mm thick and just 340 grams. Acer says that the display includes a new anti-fingerprint coating, while its back cover includes texturing to make it more sturdy while holding in hand.

The Iconia One 8 comes in as many as 10 different colors. This includes Jade Green, Sunshine Yellow, Vivid Orange, Sky Blue, Essential White, Midnight Black, Fragrant Pink, Violet Purple, Mia Blue, and Garnet Red.
The Iconia Tab 10, on the other hand, is the company's first 10.1-inch tablet that has arrived minus a keyboard, compared to last year's Iconia A3. The tablet runs on a quad-core Mediatek processor running Android 4.4 KitKat
The tablet also offers full HD (1,920 x 1080) IPS display that's carefully protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The larger slate also has space for a micro-HDMI port to go with the WiDi standard on the tablet.
