Acer Iconia Tab 8 Announced Featuring 8-inch full HD display, Android KitKat OS
Taiwanese tablet/PC maker Acer has announced its latest tablet device dubbed Iconia Tab 8 ahead of the Computex 2014 tech show. The Android-based tablet will be offered in only White color variant and should go on sale in European markets starting mid-July starting from 199 Euros (approx. Rs. 15,996).
Until now Acer was quite silent, and it looks like the company has some other important products to showcase at the Computex 2014 festival. Anyways, coming back to the recently launched Iconia Tab 8, it is an 8-inch full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) display with Zero Air Gap technology and 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a very slim profile and a metallic silver rear panel that gives it a premium look.
It is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom (Z3745) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS.

It comes with a front and a rear camera but the company has not revealed the MP count of the cameras until now.
It will come in two variants depending on 16GB and 32GB internal storage and is expandable up to microSD card slot.
The tablet which measures 8.5 mm thick and weighs 360 grams also features a wide range of connectivity options like WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB.
In terms of features, it has dual speakers that promises a surround sound effect. Moreover, it also comes with a the latest Acer Touch WakeApp technology which lets users quickly and easily wake up the Iconia Tab 8 with a simple touch gesture. It also lets Acer PCs through Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) that enables users to build their own cloud on their devices. Acer promises up to 7.5 hours of battery life.
There are some of the specs that are missing at the moment, however, the company will surely reveal the device in full glory at the upcoming Computex 2014 show.
