Acer Iconia Tab 8 W: Affordable Windows 8.1 Powered Tablet Goes Official at IFA 2014
PC giant Acer on Wednesday launched its most affordable 8-inch Windows 8.1 running tablet at the ongoing IFA tech show in Berlin. The Iconia Tab 8 W, as the same suggests, is an 8-inch tablet device with an Intel Atom processor and comes at an attractive price of $150 or Rs. 9,000.
For $150, the Acer Iconia Tab 8 W offers an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800-pixels. Further, the tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The slate promises to run up to 8 hours on a single charge.

Basically, Acer's new 8-inch tablet is running the latest Windows 8.1 OS. Interestingly, the tablet also comes with a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal. What's more, Acer Iconia Tab 8 W will start shipping in select markets starting November. There's no word on India release just yet.

At IFA 2014, Acer also announced a couple of fancy Android-powered tablets: the 10-inch Iconia Tab and the Iconia One 8. Acer didn't the divulge pricing for the new Iconia One, but the 10-inch Iconia Tab will cost $199 or Rs. 12,000.

Not just Acer, Japan's Toshiba also announced its ultra cheap Windows 8.1 running tablet at IFA 2014. To be called as Encore Mini, the 7-inch tablet is priced at $119 or Rs. 7,140. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 W and Toshiba Encore Mini are among the few Windows-based tablets priced so competitively. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
