Acer Iconia W4: 8 Inch HD Windows 8.1 Tablet Launched in India for Rs 24,999

Like any other manufacturer, Taiwan's Acer Inc., launched its maiden tablet in the Indian market today. After the successful debut of Iconia W3, Acer unveiled the Iconia W4 in October this year.

Now the Iconia W4 has been launched for the Indian consumers. The 8-inch tablet running the Windows 8.1 OS comes in two variants: 32GB and 64GB. The 32GB variant goes on sale at a price point of Rs.24,999, while the higher capacity version is priced Rs. 26,999.

Acer's Iconia W3, the world's first 8-inch tablet, was touted to be a revolutionary product. But the device turned out be a disappointment and was severely criticized for underwhelming hardware. Its successor - the Iconia W4 is now being made available in India starting today.

In an event held in Bangalore, Acer Iconia W4 unveiled for the Indian market.

Talking about the specifications side, Acer Iconia W4 comes with an 8-inch WVGA HD display having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by Intel Atom 1.8 GHz Quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB/65GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. Windows 8.1 OS comes out of the box with free subscription of MS Office.

There's a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera in the front. The makers have added a 4,960mAh battery that can run up to 8 hours on a single battery. Other connectivity option include: Wi-Fi, micro-USB, micro-HDMI, among others.

Moreover, Acer is also bundling accessories made exclusively for the Iconia W4. According to the official press release, Acer is offering two fantastic accessories made for the tablet: Crunch Keyboard and Crunch Cover. The official price of accessories was missing from the press release.
