Acer Iconia W4 Tablet Featuring 8 inch Display Appears in Video Online

With the decreasing demand of notebooks and laptops, most manufacturers are focusing on tablet devices. One among the lot happens to be Taiwan based Acer which has already impressed the fans with it's Iconia W3 tablet which the company announced back in June at the Computex, 2013.

Showing more interest in the similar tablet devices, the company has once again said to be planning to release another tablet called Iconia W4 820 in October this year. The name itself suggests that the device falls in the line of Iconia series from Acer and more importantly, it can considered as the successor to the earlier Iconia W3 810 which ran on Windows 8 platform.

However, the tablet is not new to most of the Acer fans as it has already leaked several times online and yet again the device has surfaced in YouTube featuring in a 57 seconds long video. Sadly, the video doesn't reveal any of the specs of the device but shows the Windows 8 OS and the touch Screen interface of the device.

When it comes to specs, the new Iconia W4 is said to come with an improved IPS LCD display and with the silicon inside the slate. It is also said to be powered by a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3740 processor. The resolution on the 8.1 inch screen is 1200 x 800pixels, which matches the specs on the original model.

Apart from these, other expected specs of the device are 2GB RAM and the 32GB of native storage leaves 16GB of room for personal use. The tablet is also said to carry a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing shooter. The slate is also speculated to be powered by Windows 8.1 and there would be a free version of Office 2013 Home and Student Edition attached with the device.

Other connectivity features (Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and HDMI) would be similar to its predecessor. Reportedly, the Iconia W4 will be made available in the market around October at €329 (Rs. 27,807). Buyers will get to choose from Silver and Black color variant.
