Acer Unveils Aspire R7 Notebook, Aspire P3 Ultrabook And 7.9-inch Iconia A1 Tablet

Taiwan's most ambitious tech firm Acer recently announced three stellar devices at recently held event in New York City. All three products are different from each other, as one falls under ‘connected devices' while other two are traditional PCs but with a twist.

The Acer Iconia A1, is a 7.9-inch tablet device with quad-core based processor, and rivals Apple iPad Mini, and Samsung Galaxy Note 510. The device can be purchased for $169 (Rs.9, 093). The Aspire R7 is a notebook device with 15.6-inch display with ‘floating screen'. Yes, it's a uniquely shaped all -in -one machine packaged in such a manner that works as a traditional desktop, and still being called as a laptop computer.

Third in the series is a ‘convertible ultrabook' known by the name of Aspire P3, a knock off of the Surface Pro with detachable keyboard cover. It will cost you $799 (Rs. 42, 994) in the US market. It is unlikely to see these above mentioned devices made available to Indian consumers soon. There is a fair chance to see the Acer A1 in the Indian market in the coming days. Stay tuned to GizBot.

The trend started by Asus Nexus 7 with 7-inch devices has started to propagate further with the coming of Acer Iconia A1. The tablet houses a 7.9-inch IPS display with resolution of 1,024 X 768 pixels, 1.2-Ghz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM , 8GB/16GB of internal memory, a 5-,mega pixel rear camera, 0.3-mega pixel front facing camera , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 , in -built 3G modem , microSD slot , HDMI port, and GPS. The 8GB version sells for $169 (Rs.9, 093) while the 16GB variant costs $199 (Rs. 10, 762) in the US market. Availability date - June, 2013.

The Windows 8 powered Aspire 7 comes with a 15.6-inch display. Well, the keyboard on the notebook PC is below the trackpad. Acer calls it Ezle hinge design. The display can be flipped easily thus it helps in the changing the orientation of the screen. It packs an IPS display with resolution of 1, 920 X 1080 pixels, Intel Core i5, 500GB hard disk, 6GB of RAM, backlit keyboard, HDMI, Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, one USB 2.0, two USB 3.0 and weighs 5.29 pounds. Asking price - $999 (Rs. 53,756).

Acer Aspire P3- Highlighted specifications

It's a Windows 8 tablet with a detachable keyboard cover. The look and feel of the device must be inspired by company's previous tablets. An 11.6-inch IPS display with resolution of 1,366 X 768 pixels, Intel Core i3/I5 processor, 2GB/4GB of RAM, 60GB/120GB of SSD storage , one USB 3.0 , HDMI port, a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera, 72op HD quality front facing camera among other features. Asking price - $799 (Rs. 42, 994).
