Amazon Discount: New Kindle Paperwhite Now Available For Rs 8,999
Popular online retailer Amazon has finally launched the second generation Kindle Paperwhite e-book reader in India at the price of Rs. 8,999. Thus, if you are a voracious reader and want to buy one, then hurry up, as it is only going to be on sale for a limited time period.
To be precise, the limited period offer will only last until tomorrow, i.e. 5th July, 2014. Announced back in September 2013, Amazon launched its New Kindle Paperwhite in India earlier this year at a price of Rs. 10,999.

New Kindle Paperwhite: Specifications
Talking about the specs, the New Kindle Paperwhite features the same 6-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display at 212 PPI pixel density with built-in light. It has a new display technology with higher contrast and a built-in built-in light.
It also comes with a 25% faster processor and new touch technology with 19% tighter touch grid so that it respond even more accurately to the smallest touches.
New Kindle Paperwhite sports a dual WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support, and has 2 GB of internal memory (1.25 GB user memory) to store about 1000 Books and offers up to 8 weeks (wireless off) of battery life.
Further, it has 3G support and EDGE/GPRS. Sadly, the 3G version is currently out of stock in India.

New Kindle Paperwhite: Features
The new e-reader also boasts some new features such as Kindle Page Flip in-line footnotes, Freetime and Vocabulary Builder. Moreover, users will also find Facebook and Twitter integration for sharing recommendations, highlighted sections and quotes.
Kindle Paperwhite has a built-in parental controls, which is an engaging way to encourage kids to spend more time reading. Users can hand-select books for their kids to read, and hand out achievement badges when they hit reading milestones.
A progress report keeps parents updated on total time spent reading, number of words looked up, badges earned and books finished. It features a New Smart Lookup which integrates a full dictionary definition with other reference information about a word, character, topic or book via X-Ray and Wikipedia.
Smart Lookup recognizes this as an important topic and phrase in the book, and gives you the correct definition of "credit default swaps" via X-Ray.
