Apple iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini Get Price Cuts in India

With the launch of Apple's updated iPad lineup, the Cupertino-based has reduced the prices of old-generation iPads in India. Well, that exactly what's happened in the wake of iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 launch.

Firstly, the iPad Mini is now officially priced Rs. 17,000, making it the most affordable Apple-branded tablet ever in India. Ecommerce sites in India have been retailing the mini version of iPad at Rs. 16,000 for quite some time.. The 7.9-inch tablet competes against the likes of Lenovo Yoga 2 (8-inch) and Google Nexus 7 (2013).

Following its pricing approach over the last few years, Apple has cut down the price of the iPad Mini Retina. The mid-end tablet, which has a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2048x1536p resolution, now starts at Rs 21,900 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, down from Rs 28,900.

Apple iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini Get Price Cuts in India

At the same time, the iPad Air (Wi-Fi only) model is now available for Rs. 28,990, down from Rs. 35,990. As of now, Apple has not revealed the prices of 32GB variants of both iPad Air and iPad Mini 2.

Apple on Thursday launched the much-awaited iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. The new iPad Air 2 (Wi-Fi only) model will cost Rs 35,900, Rs 42,900 and Rs 49,900 for the 16, 64 and 128GB variants. The cellular versions will cost Rs 45,900, Rs 52,900 and Rs 59,900 for the three native storage options, respectively.

Well the iPad Mini 3 starts at Rs 28,900, Rs 35,900 and Rs 42,900 for the 16, 64 and 128GB models. iPad mini 3 with Wi-Fi + Cellular versions have been priced at Rs 38,900, Rs 45,900 and Rs 52,900, respectively.

Apple's approach in reducing its price on older iPad models allows the company to target number of customers and target various price points.
