Apple has been making a large sized iPad, the same tablet speculated to have a 12.9-inch UHD display. The said tablet computer could be announced in the second half of 2014, reports DigiTimes.
The Cupertino-based giant has been rumored to be working on a new tablet, other than standard 9.7-inch iPad. The upcoming iPad model would have a 12.9-inch UHD display, touted to be far superior to the original iPad. The street is abuzz with rumors that Apple might come with a 12.9-inch iPad Maxi in the second half of 2014. The 12.9-inch iPad will be the third tablet model, alongside the 9.7-inch iPad and 7.9-inch iPad Mini.
According to the DigiTimes, Apple's upcoming 12.9-inch tablet will be targeted at educational and enterprise markets.
Back in September, Quanta were testing a large sized iPad, and now according to a latest report, the contract manufacturer has secured contract to manufacture the iPad Maxi.

Few days back, China's Padnews reported that the upcoming Apple's 12.9-inch iPad could be announced in March 2014.
Back in October 2013, South Korean website ET News reported that Apple and Samsung both are working on bigger display tablets, 12.9-inch and 12.2-inch respectively, which the tech titans will debut in the market next year.
KGI securities chief Ming-Chi Kuo, known for predicting Apple's upcoming devices, also anticipated that Apple will announce a 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display in the coming months. The device will be smaller than MacBook with all new design boasting a 12-inch display.
CEO Tim Cook, Apple, again teased new product categories at an investor meet held recently.
"If you look at the skills Apple has, from hardware to software to services and an incredible app ecosystem, this set of things are very, very unique," Cook said. "We obviously believe we can use our skills in building other great products that are in categories that represent areas that we do not participate today."
It is to be seen whether the 12.9-inch iPad Maxi will get success in the enterprise market or not.
