Taiwanese tech giant Asus's MeMO Pad Smart 10 ME301T released a 10 inch budget tablet offering packed with decent specifications last year year in the international market. While the Android tablet has been deemed as a worthy device, it looks like the vendor is prepping a successor of the budget device to be unleashed this year.
Supporting the speculation is a report from Techblog.gr that suggests, Asus is prepping a second edition of the tablet, which might come this summer. The report has also come up with a purported list of specifications of the upcoming tablet claiming that it might boast a 10 inch full HD touchscreen display, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, Android Jelly Bean OS, 1GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, GPS and a 5,050 mAh battery.
Moreover, an earlier report from Notebook Italia leaked the GLBenchmark listing of a an Asus tablet called MeMO Pad ME302C with an Intel x86 processor. As per the benchmark, the device has a 10 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 1,6GHz Intel x86 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Apparently, the model number ME302T hints that it could be a sequel to ME301T MeMO Pad Smart 10. Moreover, the upcoming model is likely to be a budget offering priced at $299 (approx. Rs 16,000).
Anyways, the updated set of specifications will be great if Asus give the Smart Pad 10 successor the same price point as mentioned above. Moreover, the display, processor and camera bumps will certainly turn some heads in the budget tablet market, as these specs are normally found in high-end offerings.
