CES 2015: Asus Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) Launched With 7-inch Display and Intel Processor Inside

Following the Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom at CES 2015, the Taiwanese handset manufacturer Asus has announced a new 7 inch tablet Asus Fonepad 7 (FE171CG). Basically, it is the beefed-up version of last year Fonepad 7 that was launched in India recently. Asus Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) comes in Black, White, Gold and Red variant and has also got an accessory to accompany - the MagSmart Cover which will be available for the tablet separately.

Asus Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) sports a 7-inch IPS display with Anti-Fingerprint Coating and 178-degree wide viewing angle with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. This slate is clocked at 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor and PowerVR SGX544 GPU.

Depending on the region, it comes in two variant, 1/2GB RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage which can be expandable with microSD card slot, 8/5MP rear camera with 2MP front snapper. On the form factor, it carries a dimension of 7.9mm thickness which is thinner than its predecessor with 10.7mm and weighs around 280 grams with a premium finish at the back.

On the connectivity side, it supports 3G HSPA+ (with voice calling), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack. It is powered by a 3950mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) on top of ZenUI. Asus may release the firmware update after the device goes on sale.

Although Asus has not revealed anything about the pricing and release date, we are expecting the full information in the future.
