DataWind, best known for producing low-cost Aakash tablets, on Thursday announced that it would provide 12 months of free unlimited internet browsing with the purchase of its UbiSlate 7Cz and UbiSlate 3G7 tablet PCs in partnership with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).
The company also revealed a retail partnership with UniverCell to market the company's UbiSlate tablets.
With new retail partnership in place, DataWind tablets will be made available through physical retail channels. Up until now, DataWind tablets were only available through e-commerce platforms.

Moreover, DataWind is expected to offer other tablets as well as smartphones through Univercell's retail stores.
"We will sell the tablets across 450 stores in the country. Tablets are the new slates in Indian homes and to make it more accessible to people, we will offer flexi-financing schemes," said Sathish Babu, founder of Univercell Telecommunications.
Datawind UbiSlate 7CZ tablet has a 7-inch display. It is equipped with 1 GHz dual dore processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There's a 2MP rear-facing and 0.3 front-facing camera. The slate runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The UbiSlate 3G7 tablet, on the other hand, sports a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Other highlighted specs are as follows: 2MP rear-camera, 0.3MP front-facing shooter, 4GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot and more.
