Dell Venue 8 7840 Started Getting Android 5.0 Update
Atlast, Dell has finally released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Venue 8 7840 tablet. This update is now available over-the-air (OTA) and will automatically reach your device over the next few days.

Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system.

It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen.
Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by an application.

Reiterating the specs of Venue 8 7840 tablet, runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features an 8.4-inch Quad-HD (2560x1600) OLED display.

It sports a quad-core Intel Atom Z3500 series SoC, clocked at 2.3GHz, alongside a PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
It packs an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front 2-megpixel shooter. The 16GB of built-in storage on the Dell Venue 8 is expandable via microSD card. Connectivity options include the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
