Tablets have become increasing popular among kids. In fact we have seen a changing trend where working parents are going digital and buying education tablets for their kids.
Consequently, with the consumption of tablets increasing in the urban pockets of India, a lot of kid-friendly tablets have simultaneously cropped up with robust parental controls and age-appropriate apps.
One such prominent startup is Metis Learning. In September 2014, the folks over at Metis Learning unveiled an Android powered tablet, in collaboration with Intel. Simply dubbed as ‘Eddy', the kid-friendly tablet makes a great fit for anyone in the family.
With their Eddy tablet having garnered much consumer attention, thanks to its impressive features wrapped up in a Rs. 9,999 price tag, the young start-up hopes to launch a new tablet with fast performance and kid safe design very soon.
New Eddy Tablet Coming in Next Few Weeks
In a latest exclusive conversation with GizBot, Bharat Gulia, co-founder of Metis Learning Solutions spoke about the next generation upcoming line-up of the kid-friendly tablet range. The head official informed that "the company will launch a new variant of Eddy tablet in next 25 to 30 days."
Bharat Gulia said, " Our receiving a lot of customer feedback, we plan to bring a new variant of Eddy tablet which will come incorporated with lots of creative features."
Further he added, "We might launch the device somewhere around February end or early March."
The official spokesperson also informed that the upcoming devices will have similar specifications as found in the current Eddy tablet and the price will be around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
The Eddy tablet was launched late last year with a 7-inch (1024x600)-pixel display, a UV-ray protective layer to make it safe for childrens' eyes.
The tablet boasted over 160 apps selected by educators and experts. The device also featured Intel's Atom Processor Z2520, 16GB of native storage, dual cameras and runs Android 4.2.2 and a proprietary Athena operating system, developed by Metis.
