These days mobile devices such as tablets and hybrid PCs are coming up with kick stands. The debut of Microsoft's Surface RT and later Surface Pro were incremental in bringing smartcovers into vogue.

They might have failed to sizzle tablet market, but their presence in the market just inspired companies like Samsung to work on different breed of devices. Recently, the South Korean company filed patents in regards two new tablet computers.

Samsung Kickstand And Flexible Display? The Inside Story!

A site named Patent Bolt is reporting Samsung's ambition to bring something unique, something different from Galaxy range of tablets into the market. One of the tablet is built in kickstand, while the other one would have a flexible display. The patent did not provide exact details in terms of specs of the upcoming devices. So far, these are just concept devices in the minds of engineers working for Samsung.

"The first one is simply titled "Tablet Computer" could be looking to the active student or business user who would appreciate the built-in case with a handle that could double as a stand for quick presentations. The second design which is titled "Tablet PC" is equally intriguing in that it could be a design that incorporates a flexible display".

What About the Samsung Tizen Smartphone Release?

In another news Samsung is kind of impressed with the progress being made in the Tizen OS. The upcoming OS is based on open platform ( basically, Linux), and chances are bright to see an brand new high-end handset from Samsung later this year.

The Tizen phone will be out in August or September, and this will be in the high-end category,", as said by Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile division , told Bloomberg recently. He [ Lee Young Hee] further add " it will be the best product equipped with the best specifications." For Samsung the future lies in making Tizen OS based handsets.

"We like Android and we plan to continue our good relations with Google. Our strategy has always been to work with multiple operating software companies", as said by Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile division. "There are simply a number different needs from our customers and the market for third-party operating systems."

Samsung is not moving from Android any time soon. In fact, Google has given Galaxy S4 a status of Nexus device at Google I/O 2013. So, these giant do share a great chemistry and respect for each other.
