American tech giant HP recently announced two affordable voice-calling tablets for the Indian market including Slate 6 and 7, and now it looks like the personal computer maker might soon launch a new 10-inch HD tablet in the market.

 

This can be said, as a new 10-inch Android-powered tablet has been launched online via e-commerce site Flipkat by HP. The tablet dubbed as "HP 10 Tablet", hasn't been announced anywhere else in the world.

 

Amazingly, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based tablet is already on sale via two of the biggest online shopping sites in India including Flipkart and eBay India. Priced at Rs. 20,235, the HP 10 Tablet features 3G SIM connectivity and a massive 4600mAh battery has been fitted inside.

HP hasn't made any formal announcements related to HP 10 Tablet yet, despite that the device is up for sale in country. According to listing, the HP 10 Tablet incorporates a 10-inch diagonal capacitive multi-touch display having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The tablet also features a 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered 10-inch tablet offers a 4,600mAh Lithium-polymer battery, which can lasts up to 5 hours (video playback). The device measures 10.9mm in terms of thickness and weighs 632 grams.

Other potential connectivity options are built-in 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, 2MP rear-facing camera, VGA quality front-facing camera, Micro HDMI, integrated microphones, two Micro USB ports, Bluetooth v3.0, and lastly a 3.5mm headphone jack. HP 10 Tablet is a voice-calling tablet; therefore, users can make a call anytime of the day.

Additionally, the said tablet is up for grabs from Ebay India at a price point of Rs. 23,000. After a long time, we are seeing PC manufacturers like HP, Acer, Lenovo and Dell, getting bullish about Indian tablet market. PC giant Dell recently launched three tablets powered by Android/ Windows 8 for Indian consumers.

The range starts from Rs. 10,999 and goes up to Rs. 26,499 for Windows 8 powered tablet. Meanwhile, Lenovo has become more proactive, when it comes to promotion of Android-based tablet. The makers behind Vibe X have come up with a 10-inch Androidbook, the IdeaPad A10, for Rs. 19,990.

A recent report by research firm Canalys stated that tablet devices are expected to make up 50 % of PC market in 2014. Further, Android mobile OS will account 32 % of PC market this year.
