HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra and Slate 8 Plus Get Listed on Official Websites
After being leaked several times in the past, finally HP has listed its latest tablets the Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra and Slate 8 Plus. The VoiceTab Ultra is currently on pre-order at HP Singapore website, while the Slate 8 Plus has been listed on HP France website. Unfortunately, these devices are not globally launched at the moment, but HP could launch it soon.
Talking about the pricing, The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra would cost buyers about $499 (approx. Rs. 24,150) in Singapore and would start shipping from14th July. On the other hand, the HP Slate 8 Plus is listed at 299 Euros, which translates to Rs. 24,485 in Indian currently.
The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra is very much similar to Huawei MediaPad X1 that was unveiled earlier this year at the MWC 2014. Moreover, HP has also used Huawei HiSilicon processor in this tablet. Anyways, lets take a look at the specs of these devices individually.

HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra: Key Specifications
HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Ultra sports a 7-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) capacitive multi-touch LTPS display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core HiSilicon processor with Mali 450 GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. The tablet comes with an impressive 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well. Other specs include: Dual SIM (Optional) support, 16GB Internal storage, expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD, 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth OTG, GPS, USB OTG and a 5000 mAh battery. It measures 7.18mm thick and weighs 239 grams.
HP Slate 8 Plus: Key Specifications
HP Slate 8 Plus is a slightly larger tablet with 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a same 1.6 GHz quad-core HiSilicon processor with Mali 450 GPU coupled with a lesser 1GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with Emotion UI 2.0. Other specs include: 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera, 1-megapixel front-facing camera. The device which measures 7.95mm thick and weighs 350 grams houses 16GB Internal storage, expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD and features 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n (dual band for LTE version), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS support. At the moment we don't have a clue about the battery capacity of the tablet.
These devices are pretty impressive and the design looks very conspicuous. However, we are not sure whether it will land in India anytime soon or not. But that doesn't keep our hopes to the ground.
Anyways, the tablet will have to rival against a number of slates from Samsung and Asus as well. Samsung Tab 3 and Tab 4 rage are the potential rival against these new HP tablets.
