Hewlett Packard (HP) has been slowly and gradually making its way into the tablet market. Although the company hasn't found success just yet, but HP seems confident enough about its next tablet device, dubbed the Slate 8 Plus.

The tablet in question, HP Slate 8 Plus, is reportedly heading to India and Russia with a modest 299 euro (about Rs. 20,000) price tag. The leaked device is said to have an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800-pixels, a size that would be identical to the Apple iPad Mini.

Additionally, the mid-range tablet will sport a quad-core Hisilicon Balong V9R1 processor clocked at 1.6GHz. It is interesting to note that the leaked tablet would be the first non-Huawei device to feature to come equipped with a Hisilicon chipset.

Other hardware features of the device are as follows: a modest 1GB of RAM with 16GB of on-board memory, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1-megapixel front-facing shooter. Moreover, the slate will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

Going by its leaked specifications, the HP Slate 8 Plus appears to target emerging countries like India and China. This tablet may not blow your mind, but it will definitely give boost to HP in the developing world, where the demand for low-end tablets has seen a spike in the recent months.
