HP Slate7 Plus, Slate7 Extreme, Slate8 Pro and Slate10 HD Tablets Launched: Price, Specs and More

Hewlett-Packard has recently released four of its latest tablets in the US market. Looking at the prices of these series of devices, it seems HP is trying to focus more on budget range tablets. The new devices come dubbed as Slate 8 Pro, Slate 7 Plus, Slate 7 Extreme and a bigger one Slate10 HD. It is to be noted that all these tablets run on Android platform.

These tablets were rumored to come, back in September and now the company has already listed them on their official US site. In fact, it is actually on sale. Thus price and specs of all these devices are also available now. The HP Slate7 Extreme and Slate8 Pro are NVIDIA Tegra 4-powered tablets thus they will offer an efficient performance for sure. While the HP Slate7 Plus tablet is powered by a Tegra 3 processor and the Slate10 HD tablet is powered by a dual-core Cortex A9 Marvell PXA986 processor.

HP Slate7 Plus

The Slate7 Plus comes packed with a 7-inch display which offers a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Imaging will be taken care of by a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing shooter for video calling or taking selfies. It houses 8GB internal memory and also comes with a micro SD slot which supports up to 32 GB of additional memory. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. The Slate7 Extreme also comes with a similar 7-inch (1280×800 pixels) display. However, it is powered by a better processor; 1.8 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 coupled with 1GB of RAM. It also runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. Photograpy can be taken care of by a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera. It houses 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 HS (Miracast compatible). It is powered by a bit higher cell which is rated at 4100 mAh. The advantage of this tablet is that it comes with an Integrated stylus pen and the NVIDIA DirectStylus technology. The Silver Slate is priced at $199.99 (approx. Rs. 12,469).

It is powered by a 1.8 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. This partticular tablet features a better imaging capability as it comes with 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and users will also find a 720p front-facing snapper. Connectivity options are regular with WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 HS (Miracast compatible). It also sports Beats Audio and houses 16GB of internal storage which can be enhanced up to 32 GB using micro SD card. The Slate10 HD is a biggest in the lot. It comes packed with a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display. Powering the device is a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 Marvell PXA986 processor which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. This one also runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It's loaded with a 5MP auto focus 1080p rear camera and a 2MP front-facing snapper. There is a similar connectivity options like WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 HS (Miracast compatible), power connector and micro USB. It houses 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. Additionally it also features a Beats Audio. The tablet that can be bought in Silk grey color is powered by a 7000 mAh lithium-polymer battery and is priced at $299.99 (approx. Rs. 18,691).

All these devices share some of the specs like the 1GB RAM, expandable storage of up to 32GB. Moreover, all these tablets also run on the same version of Android platform and even connectivity of theses device seems to be similar. Perhaps, looking at all these devices, it is sure that these tabelts will soon be made available in the Asian markets as it is affordable and comes with better specs.
