Back in May 2013, HP announced the new generation touch enable powerful devices including HP SlateBook x2 and the HP Split x2. Both were claimed to be detachable PCs offering the full functionalities of a notebook along with a removable screen to serve the purpose of a tablet.
Now during a launch event in New Delhui today, HP has finally unveiled the two convertible devices for the Indian market along with four more devices including HP Envy Rove 20, HP Pavilion 11 TouchSmart Notebook, HP Envy TouchSmart 14 Ultrabook and HP Slate 21 All-in-One.
They include all categories from notebooks, detachable laptops and All-in-One PCs. With the introduction of new range, HP now offers a multi operating system (OS) option and new form factors.
Out of the six devices launched today, the two convertible laptop/tablet devices HP SlateBook x2 and the HP Split x2 look pretty interesting. While the new range will be released in the market by end of July, HP has informed that Slate x2 will come at Rs. 39,990 and the Split x2 will cost around Rs. 64,990.
Further, HP Envy Rove 20 will cost Rs. 69,990 while Pavilion 11 TouchSmart Notebook has been priced at Rs. 31,990. On the other hand HP Envy TouchSmart 14 Ultrabook is worth Rs. 64,990 and the last one called HP Slate 21 All-in-One is the cheapest one among the six devices as will be hit the shelves at a price of Rs. 24,990.
Ketan Patel, Director, Consumer Product Category, PPS, HP India noted, "People today demand extreme mobility and performance in their computing devices, to access and create content effortlessly anytime and anywhere,". He further said, "As India PC market leader, HP is happy to introduce the next-generation of PCs in a variety of form factors. These new products also bring novel touch experiences to help people connect, share and create in ways they never imagined."

HP SlateBook x2
The HP SlateBook x2 is a 10.1-inch HD IPS LCD touchscreen convertible device that can transform from tablet to notebook or vice versa. The device looks sleek and is lightweight and runs on a popular Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system . The convertible device comes with a dual battery system, obviously one powering the tablet and the other powering the base. Being Android based divice it can thus deliver Google experience to the users with services like Google Now, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and Google+ Hangouts for multiperson video chat as well as access to apps and digital content through Google Play.
The SlateBook x2 features an quad core NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor clocked to 1.8 GHz and comes packed with 2 GB DDR 3 RAM. It also includes up to 64 GB of storage and DTS Sound+ Solution for accessing and enjoying photos, music and videos. Further, HP has also incorporated exclusive native printing capability that allows users to print directly from most applications.
HP Split x2
The Split x2 has been launched equipped with a 13.3-inch offering a 1366 x 768-pixel display resolution along with Intel i3 or i5 processor(optional). The device is powered by Windows 8 and also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2GB of RAM, a micro SD reader, one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.0 port, an SD card slot, HDMI-out and up to 128GB of internal solid state storage as well as a 500GB hard disk drive.
The convertible device comes with a high-quality music with Beats AudioTM, which provides the best-sounding, richest audio experience on a PC. An optional hard disk in the base expands storage capacity while dual batteries allow users to stay ultramobile.
HP Envy Rove 20
The HP Envy Rove 20 All-in-One PC is the company's first mobile All-in-One PC and sports a 20-inch diagonal IPS widescreen HD+ (1600 x 900) LED backlit display and comes with a 10-point touch.
The device is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core processors, Intel HD graphics and 10-point touch. The HP Envy Rove 20 runs on Windows 8 platform and comes equipped with a high sound quality from Beats Audio. Intel HD 4400 graphics is also integrated in the this AIO and 4 GB DDR 3 RAM.
HP Pavilion 11 TouchSmart Notebook
HP Pavilion 11 TouchSmart Notebook comes with the 11.6 inches capacitive multi touch LCD display with WLED backlight. The display comes with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The touchscreen notebook runs on Windows 8 Operating System powered by AMD processor and integrated graphic and is supported 4 GB RAM and houses a 320GB HDD storage capacity.
HP Envy TouchSmart 14 Ultrabook
HP Envy TouchSmart 14 Ultrabook is based on Intel Core 4th-Gen Haswell Processor. It comes with an impressive 3200x1800 pixels display. The ultrabook also features Intel HD 5000 graphics and runs on Windows 8. It is a 14 inch ultrabook that comes with a LED-Backlit capacitive multi touch touchscreen LCD display. The device also features 720p front-facing webcam, as well as USB 3.0 (x2), HDMI, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
HP Slate 21 All-in-One
HP Slate 21 All-in-One allows people to magnify their Android world at home with a big Full HD touch screen. The newly launched AIO offers a large 21.5-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display with wide-viewing angles.
The device comes with a dual-band technology through which people can stream music or movies and browse the web at the same time, and it also comes with a built-in DTS Sound technology that offers a rich sound quality.
It comes pre-installed with an HP TrueVision HD Webcam and Wireless Direct which enables users to share videos, photos and data between devices without the need for a network connection, and multi-user support with the latest Android OS Jelly Bean 4.2.
Additionally, it offers speed and performance with a powerful Tegra 4 quad-core NVIDIA processor, as well as an intuitive optical touchscreen with true pinch and zoom functionality.
