Lava IvoryS: 7-Inch 3G Voice-Calling Tablet Launched in India at Rs 8,499

Domestic vendor Lava has been showing interest in promoting its 3G Voice-calling enabled tablets in India for some time now. Just in the beginning of this month, Lava introduced the QPAD e704 voice-calling tablet at Rs. 9,999.

It's been less than a month since the company launched the QPAD e704 tablet, and just now, Lava has come up with yet another voice-calling tablet, dubbed the IvoryS, under Rs. 10,000 price segment. The Lava IroryS is an affordable 3G Voice calling tablet at Rs. 8,499.

Lava IvoryS comes in grey and white colours and will be available across national retail chain stores, multi-brand outlets across India and online stores.

Lava IvoryS Tablet- Highlighted Specifications

The Lava IvoryS is a dual-SIM tablet and supports 3G voice-calling functionality. It comes with a 7-inch capacitive display having a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The slate is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core processor (MT8312) with Mali 400 GPU @ 416 MHz, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The tablet runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

On the imaging front, there's a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with a single LED Flash. Also add a VGA quality front-facing shooter given on the front. The makers have added a 2,800mAh battery fitted inside, which will provide up to 200 hours of standby time and 8 hours talk time.

Other highlighted connectivity options include: Dual-SIM (3G +2G), Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, USB tethering, GPRS and EDGE.

The tablet also comes preloaded with host of productivity and security apps and games like Opera, Hungama Music App, WhatsApp, PayTM, EA games

The 7-inch tablet market has become more saturated; the price competition in this segment is intense. With such a saturated tablet market, it's unclear exactly where the IvoryS tablet stands. If you're looking for a feature rich tablet, this probably isn't the only option with 3G voice-calling feature.Asus recently launched the Fonepad 7 Dual SIM tablet ( Voice Calling) at a price point of Rs. 12, 999. It comes with a 7-inch 720p HD display and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The quad-core tablet is expected to get Android 4.4 Kitkat update in June of this year
