This year's IFA is finally up and running. And Lenovo has officially kicked off its IFA 2014 campaign in style by announcing a brand new slate for its fans. Tagged Tab S8, this newest tablet offering from the company that will reach out to customers later down the year.
The new Tab S8, which is Lenovo's only Android addition in Berlin, comes with a host of interesting specs and features, no to mentione its $199 (around Rs. 12,000) price tag. Also, the new 8-inch tablet looks like a decent entry into the already filled tablet market.
Going through the specs of the newest tablet from Lenovo, the Tab 8, as we mentioned before, makes use of an 8-inch screen. In fact, the screen will offer a full 1920x1200, 16:10 IPS panel which isn't too shabby either. Lenovo says it created the Tab S8 for consumers who are looking "for a stylish, slim and affordable Android tablet starting at just $199."
Intel has decided to opt for One Glass Solution touch-panel technology provides a crystal clear viewing experience. The front panel also features a 1.6-megapixel HD camera for easy video chatting. There's also an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with wide aperture f2.2 lens.
The tablet is powered by Intel's Atom quad core processor Z3745 (up to 1.86 GHz). It runs the latest Android KitKat 4.4 OS and offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The slate is also juiced via a 4290mAh battery with Lenovo promising up to 400hrs of standby time.
Additional features include optional high-speed LTE (4G) connectivity (based on Intel XMMTM 7160) and Wi-Fi for data connectivity, and weighs in at 299g. Lenovo has promised that it will start selling the Tab S8 later this month via major retailers.
