LG G Pad 8.0 4G LTE Variant Announced, Coming this Week

Back in May 2014, to compete against Samsung's Galaxy Tab 4 series of tablets, LG unveiled the G Pad series of tablet consisting of 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1-inch models. However, one of the factors that made the LG G Pad tablets incompetent against Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablets was the lack of 4G LTE support.

LG G Pad 8.0 4G LTE Variant Announced, Coming this Week

To fill this gap, LG has officially announced to come up with the 4G LTE variant of LG G Pad series. Yes, the company will launch the LG G Pad 8.0 LTE thid week itself in Black, White, Luminous Orange and Luminous Blue color variants. It should be noted that LG will be initially rolling out the device in key European countries and then would eventually release in Central and South America, Asia and CIS regions this month.

The G Pad tablet that comes with a range of features including Touch & Shoot, Gesture Shot, Smart Keyboard and Dual Window will feature a same specs that was used in the regular G Pad tablets.

Apart from 4G LTE feature, the buyers won't find any difference in the two variants of LG G Pad 8.0. The G Pad comes with a range of features including Touch & Shoot, Gesture Shot, Smart Keyboard and Dual Window. The other features which one would notice in the LTE variant of the G Pad would be QPair 2.0. This will let users connect the LG G Pad with the other Android-powered tablets and smartphones via Bluetooth to receive notifications of calls and messages on that respond directly from the G Pad.

LG G Pad 8.0 LTE: Key Specifications

Specswise, LG G Pad 8.0 LTE sports an 8.0-inch IPS display giving a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) along with a proprietary UI layered on top of it.

The tablet also sports a 5MP rear camera along with a front facing 1.3MP snapper, which is sufficient for taking selfies and making video calls. The LG G Pad 8.0 LTE houses 16GB of internal storage which is expandable using microSD. Connectivity options include LTE, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The device which measures 210.8 x 124.2 x 9.9mm weighs 344 grams and comes powered by a 4200mAh battery.

The company has not unveiled the pricing of the latest LTE variant of the G Pad 8.0 tablet at the moment but since it will start shipping this week itself in Europe, you will get to know the pricing from us soon.
