iPad Mini 2 Pictures Leak: Apple Next Tablet to Come with Retina Display & iPod Touch Color Options

By Anuj Bhatia

Apple iPad Mini made its dream debut last year without hullabaloo. The expectation from the device wasn’t less by any margin, but was criticized for being not being a true iPad. It is said that the company will indeed launch much improved mini iPad with Retina Display to stop growing voices.

The first gen iPad has been trashed for low powered processor and bumpy screen. Naturally, it’s in the DNA of Apple that they keep on coming up with improved hardware time to time. Recently, it was revealed that the company would like to stick with AU Optronics (AUO) manufactured AV-HA displays. The supplier currently makes panels for iPad Mini alongside another supplier- LG. Now new rumors suggest that Apple is working on much improved iPad Mini. That’s fine. But what is interesting is the fact that the next gen iPad Mini will be thicker than the previous generation. Is Apple planning to launch Retina Display led iPad Mini 2? Only time will tell.

Apple iPad Mini 2 – Crunchy rumors

The new crazy rumor of Retina Display led iPad Mini is the talk of the town. What Apple is planning in real is still unknown as of now. Chinese site Weiphone got the first glimpse of iPad Mini. The alleged pictures signals thicker body and blue colored Apple logo on the back.

The iPad 3 was also spotted in the similar fashion. If the next gen iPad Mini comes in thicker casing than it is safe to say that Retina Display is one the expected added feature to be included in the device. And talking about the colored nature, the company may like to bring peppy options to woo masses. What about the added cost? Well this could surely accelerate cost, for sure. Even Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0 is going to be an expensive device with HD screen, S-Pen, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE and Exynos 5 dual core processor.

Apple would like to stick with the premium price tag because it wants to create iPad Mini as a new category. The market is currently flooded with plenty of cheap options who are predominantly fighting with Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire. Google who tasted success with Asus manufactured Nexus 7 planning to unveil $99 tablet at Google I/O 2013. It would be interesting to see what consumers are looking forward to see in their next tablet.
