Few weeks back, reports came in that Apple could launch an iPad, as big as 13 inch display. Now new update has hit the news floor that the Cupertino tech giant and it's most fierce rival Samsung, both are actually working on 12 inch or probably bigger tabs.
According to a new Digitimes report, information has come in from a supply chain that both companies are looking to move into an area not full of competition. Since there is a lower demand for 9 and 10 inch tablets in the market, possibilities are Apple and Samsung are looking at the 12 inch size as a solution to the decreasing demand, explained the report.
However, analysts believe this could have an intense impact on the notebook sections, as Apple already has 11.6 and 13.3 inch MacBook Air selling in the international market.
Moreover, if the tablet will 12 inch or bigger actually arrives soon, it will affect the tablet market at chances are it could also impact not only the notebook but also other hybrid tablet/PCs. Further, if Apple and Samsung manages to bring out the devices along with the variety of other accessories like docking system and keyboard and more, it will surely bring out the positive upgrade in other existing talets. Ultrabooks might have a good chance of making itself more popular if the 12 inch or bigger tablets start coming in.
What About iPad 5?
In another set of news from Macfixit, the folks over there have also posted the front glass panel and digitizer from the iPad 5. Looking at the image, this iPad 5 coems with different internal design compared to the present iPad. The report says that the connectors inside this time comes with a Flexible Printed Circuits, like we have seen in the iPhone 4 and 5, while the earlier iPad used to come with Flat Flexible Cable.
Although there is a very scarce information on the device as of now, but other reports say that the display area is similar to the iPad with Retina display. The side bezel is apparently thinner, and now there are two (digitizer) connectors instead of one.
At the same time, the guys over MacRumors via CiccareseDesign have come up with some concept renders of the 12.9-inch / 13-inch iPad model, also dubbed as iPad maxi. Have a look at the leaked images of the digitizer and concept iPad shots below in the sliders;
One can see the 2 connectors insteat of the regular 1 which comes with previous iPads.
